The Book of I Corinthians
Facilitator: Rev. Harden Perry

First Corinthians contains a frank discussion of the church and the issues that impacted real people in the first century. The Corinthian church was corroded with sin on a variety of fronts, so Paul provided an important model for how the church should handle the problem of sin in its midst. Rather than turn a blind eye toward relational division and all kinds of immorality, he addressed the problems head on. In his bold call to purity within the Corinthian church, Paul made it clear that he was willing to risk the good opinion of some in order to help cleanse the sin that tainted the church (Insight for Living Ministries, 2018, p. 1).

We welcome you to join us in an uplifting and joyous fellowship as we grow in Christian maturity and spiritual wisdom to better follow and serve our Lord and Jesus Christ.

Young Adult Men & Women Life Study
(Ages 18-35)

"The enemy wants us to feel rejected . . . left out, lonely, and less than. In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences of rejection--from the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over to the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father. She leans in to honestly examine the roots of rejection, as well as rejection's ability to poison relationships from the inside out, including our relationship with God. Uninvited reminds us we are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken, or taken--a love that does not reject or uninvite."

THE BOOK OF ROMANS

Facilitator: Ernest L. Foster

Paul’s letter to the Romans is widely recognized by many as being the single most influential book within the bible. Unlike Paul’s other epistles, which addressed specific crises, such as internal divisions or sexual practices, Romans addresses broad, core doctrinal and theological issues within the Christian faith. The topics to be addressed during this study will strengthen the spiritual foundation of new and seasoned Christians alike. Many of the foundational topics that will be discuss are: The Gospel; Salvation; Justification; The Law; Jews; and much more.
JESUS ON LEADERSHIP:
BECOMING A SERVANT LEADER

Facilitator: Perry Mathis

Developing servant leaders is what the church has been about since Jesus received Peter’s confession of faith and established His church on that rock. This study uses Jesus’ example as the guide and focus of leadership among God’s people. It starts with how Jesus modeled and taught leadership, and then bring principles gleaned from His ministry into church life, demonstrating that servant leaders S.E.R.V.E. God and E.Q.U.I.P. others for T.E.A.M. ministry.
RELATIONS

Facilitator: Rev. Harper

You must make allowances for each other’s faults and forgive the person who offends you. Colossians 3:13

Come let us reason together. Isaiah 1:18

There will be conflicts in relationships. The question is what will be the results of these conflicts? This scripture; in your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. Eph.4:26 NIV provides excellent advice on mitigating conflict damage.   Many years ago, in a time far removed from our modern society, life was simple and so were family relationships. Each family member had a role, and everyone did what their role required. Obviously, today’s world is much more complex, roles are no longer as clearly defined, and relationships are often much stressed by internal and external pressures. These six attributes are essential if a relationship is to remain stable, harmonious and fruitful; LOVE, TRUST RESPECT, COMMUNICATION, COMPROMISE AND SUPPORT.
CALLED TO SERVE:
EQUIPPING LAYPERSONS FOR
ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE CHURCH

Facilitator: Dr. Evans Yancy

In our churches and ministries today, there is an urgent need for committed and spiritually equipped lay leadership to assist the clergy in shepherding the members. All Christians are called to serve in the ministry of Christ with the unique gifts they have received from our Creator. While members of the clergy have their unique calling, there exists a tremendous reservoir of gifts that are left untapped as the church fails to equip lay members for active participation in the church.
